Overview
The Technical Support Engineer will provide expert-level support for lighting control systems, IoT devices, and smart building solutions. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency in lighting controls, strong knowledge of IT and networking, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a passion for cutting-edge technologies and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for lighting control systems, IoT devices, and smart building solutions to customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system configuration, hardware, software, IT, and networking.
- Collaborate with customers and integrators to understand system requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct diagnostics on system failures and provide solutions through phone, email, or remote access tools.
- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, and Product teams to address bugs, system improvements, and feature requests.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of systems remotely or on-site as required.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs.
- Provide training and support to customers and team members on lighting controls, IoT systems, and IT networking best practices.
- Support integration with third-party systems and ensure compatibility across devices and protocols.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in smart building systems and IoT.
- Work with IT teams to address cybersecurity issues, network configurations, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Diploma in Electronics and communication/Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related technical field proven experience .
- 2-3 years of experience in technical support, preferably in lighting controls, IoT, or smart building solutions.
- Strong understanding of lighting control systems, IoT devices, and building automation.
- Proficiency in IT and networking, including experience with IP configurations, protocols, firewalls, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with integration protocols such as DALI, KNX, BACnet, Zigbee or similar systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel for on-site support and system commissioning as required.
- 70% travel in India or abroad whenever is required.
