Overview
The System Sales Engineering (SSE) team at Theory Light supports sales efforts by addressing technical challenges, educating both internal and external clients, and serving as a key resource for technical knowledge. This knowledge encompasses a broad range of areas, including Theory Light system products, integration practices, IT and networking, industry codes and compliance, and cutting-edge technologies affecting lighting, control systems, shading, and intelligent building systems. Additionally, SSEs are experts in sales channels, go-to-market strategies, and industry trends, providing critical insights and market intelligence to enhance sales performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical training sessions and product launch presentations, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs), on new products, systems, features, and market trends for the Sales and Pre-Sales teams, specifiers, integrators, customers, A3E team members, and interns.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, such as competitive analyses, brand standards, IT requirements, application notes, and other relevant materials.
- Support new product and feature releases through field testing with early adopters and beta sites.
- Act as the voice of the customer by collecting regional feedback and actively participating in ISSE feedback sessions with Product Managers, core reviews, and SSE summits.
- Deliver customer demonstrations and in-field mock-ups to address custom requests for Sequence of Operation or specific device/system functionality.
- Handle CCRs (Change Control Requests), API requests, cybersecurity, and IT compliance questionnaires for projects within your region.
- Engage in continuous learning and self-coaching to become a subject matter expert across relevant topics. Participate in joint sales calls for technical meetings and presentations with key specifiers, customers, and key accounts.
- Proactively identify and establish relationships with new partner customers, contributing to the expansion of business opportunities and enhancing market presence.
- Generate sales by developing strategies to penetrate new markets and drive revenue growth, fostering long-term business development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Diploma in engineering in ECE, EEE, EE, or proved related work Experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with Lighting control industry or equivalent, with strong technical expertise in lighting controls and IoT domains.
- In-depth technical knowledge in lighting, controls, IT, networking, cybersecurity, code compliance, green building, wellness standards, and sustainability practices.
Strong research skills to stay updated on market trends and industry developments.- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams across India, GCC, and other regions.
- Proficient in delivering presentations and conducting training sessions to large, high-profile audiences.
- Service-oriented mindset with a high energy level and strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills for collaboration with global SSE, Engineering, and Operation Manager, Technical Engineers and Product Management teams.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours or on weekends, when necessary, with a standard 5-day workweek.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% within Pan-India and the Indian Subcontinent.
